Artist Statement

Thank you for visiting my website. I am pleased to share my art with you.

   Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved to draw and paint. I see my art as being something that should create joy and happiness, both for the viewer and for myself.

   I love vibrant color. For me, colors are expressions of life, joy and happiness. They reflect my appreciation for nature, with all of its wonderful creations of shape and hue, the blues and greens of the ocean, the golden beauty of an Indian Summer. I am inspired too by the Expressionist painters, and their freedom to use color in varied unusual ways. 

   My medium is acrylic and watercolor paint. Working intuitively, I start by choosing a color theme and lines that create and connect my objects with one another. Painting transparent layers of color on top of each other creates depth. In my finished work, the viewer discovers new and different images in the interconnecting lines. An important goal for me is to keep the viewer interested enough to take a second look and fully explore my paintings. More and more of the painting is revealed the longer one looks at it.
